I said in the previous post that I 'll be briefly explaining the uses and application of a concealer in the next post... So here it is.
About
Concealer is a corrective makeup used to hide the flaws and imperfections to even out the skin .It hides dark circles ,acnes and pigmentations if applied properly. Its similar but a little more thicker than foundation .
Form
1)Liquid -Light coverage
2)Cream - Full coverage
Concealing can be done in 2 ways :
a) Using a corrective concealer
b) Using a Skin tone concealer
Concealers come in a variety of shades like purple , orange , yellow ,green ,red etc.
Application tips.
1) Concealers are supposed to be used only on discolored areas of your face like under the eyes , blemishes or pigmented areas.
2) Apply a concealer before the foundation if u want a light coverage and after the foundation if you want a heavy coverage.
It is said that applying a concealer before foundation is much better as getting the blemishes and pigmented areas evened up before foundation will give better and smoother results.
3)Concealers can make you look older if applied directly. Never conceal the area (under eyes especially) without priming it properly otherwise after sometime the concealer will show up in little lines.. making your fine lines more prominent.
4) If you don't have corrective color concealers you can use a skin tone concealer . Remember the concealer should be two shades darker than your skin tone.
Choosing a corrective concealer.
When it comes to choosing a corrective concealer let it be purple , orange or green you have to be very careful. Choosing a concealer depends upon the color of problem on our skin .
there are two types of problems.
The chart below will make it easier for you to understand which color concealer goes for which problem.
Blue color problems AND Red color problems
Post acnes marks, pigmentation , Acne/pimples, rosecea ,allergy,
Tanning ,under eye dark circles. rashes, diluted capillaries.
